Immerse yourself in the transformative healing of sound.
Learn how sound creates the world - and how to use mantra, music, vibration and rhythm to support the healing process. Review the science of sound therapy, and how music can improve mental processing. Deepen the strength of and connection to your voice with chanting and supportive toning techniques.
Apply classic yogic mantras to group and one-on-one yoga sessions for wellness, and begin incorporating sound elements into your classes and practice. Learn the structure of a sound bath - beginning to create unique sound experiences.
You'll be introduced to the Himalayan bowls, Koshi chimes, tuning forks, and more. Feel free to join us live for a Shruti box and harmonium lesson - at no extra charge!

In this Course, you will learn:
Toning using seed syllables to free the voice
The relationship of manifestation and sound
Traditional stories behind the mantras
An introduction to working with sound instruments
How to use mantra in everyday life and in classes respectfully and mindfully
The concepts of resonance, entrainment, cymatics, deep listening, and more
The science behind sound work for wellness and supporting the immune system
Classic chants to support holistic wellness, to ground oneself as teacher, and more
Using chants as part of a steadying personal practice (or sadhāna)
The structure of a sound bath
Introduction to playing the meditative instruments - including the shruti box and harmonium
How to interweave sound work into a hatha yoga class

PYI Yoga Therapists* draw from a classical array of Ayurvedic and yogic techniques to encourage health in body, mind, and spirit. Sessions are modified for a comprehensive range of mental and physical imbalances, encouraging you to participate in your healing through yogic exercise, meditation, breathing, mindfulness, relaxation, and more.
Additionally, PYI provides continuing education to medical professionals so that evidence-based yoga techniques may be used in the field at large. We are happy to offer Continuing Education Units to nurses, psychologists, and social workers for certain workshops.
